Call for the First Edition of the Dr. Razavi Scientific Award
(In memory of the late Professor of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, Sharif University of Technology)
In honor of the scientific and academic contributions of the late Dr. Seyed Jalil Razavi, professor emeritus of the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, and with the support of his esteemed family, the Iranian Association of Chemical Engineering (IAChE) is pleased to announce the first edition of the Dr. Razavi Scientific Award. This award is established to support and encourage graduate students in chemical engineering across universities in the country during the current year.
The award amount for this year, as decided by the honorable family of the late Dr. Razavi, is 50 million Iranian Rials. This award will be granted to two graduate students — one Master’s student and one PhD student (both in chemical engineering) — who are members of the IAChE student body, selected by the IAChE Awards Committee.
Deadline for document submission: End of day, March 5, 2025 (15 Esfand 1403)
Award ceremony date: May 5, 2025 (15 Ordibehesht 1404)
Eligibility and Required Documents
Official nomination of up to two graduate students currently working on approved research projects by the Dean of their respective faculties, submitted to the IAChE Secretariat.
For PhD students, no more than one year should have passed since the project approval date.
Valid membership in the Iranian Association of Chemical Engineering (IAChE).
A summary of academic background and education levels (maximum two pages).
Two academic recommendation letters signed by two full-time faculty members of the respective department, one of which must be from the project supervisor.
Submission of required documents including:
Latest academic transcript
Updated CV including educational background (universities attended, start and end years, GPA)
List of publications separated by journals and conferences
Other scientific and professional achievements
Extracurricular activities relevant to acquiring scientific and professional skills
Personal and professional competencies
Proficiency in a foreign language
Certificates of participation in educational and skill-building workshops
Activities related to community service, etc.
Information about the Master’s or PhD thesis including title, abstract, objectives, research methodology, applicability, problem-solving approach, and other relevant details.
